Office building constructed in 1984–1987, architects: Juris Skalbergs, Aivars Zavadskis, Pēteris Birulis.
The building was erected on the site of structures destroyed during World War II. The composition of the new volumes was determined by the requirement of the Riga Cultural Monument Protection Inspectorate to restore a silhouette similar to that seen in Riga’s 1823 street facade drawings.
In 1833, after two warehouses with high triangular gables were demolished, a four-storey residential building in Eclectic style was built here. Later, in 1913, five-storey rental houses in typical Art Nouveau forms were erected on the site of that building and its neighbors.
The building is one of the most striking examples of regional postmodernism of the 1980s.
